Exciting news awaits innovators and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the Davao Region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Department of Science and Technology will have its Zonal Conference for Regions 9 and 10 on March 14, 2025, at Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference will highlight the program, PROPEL. The program aims to accelerate technology transfer and commercialization across regions, driving social and economic transformation through innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through PROPEL, DOST aligns its programs and services with the needs of communities, businesses, and industries, in line with the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aside from Program PROPEL, DOST will also introduce other key initiatives such as the Accelerating Science, Technology, and Innovation for Sustainable Development Goals (STI4SDGs) seeks to create a thorough, evidence-driven, and action-focused roadmap for using STI to achieve the SDGs and the PAGTANAW2050: STI Foresight Training Series that provide leaders with advanced foresight tools to foresee challenges via customized training programs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Collectively, these initiatives tackle critical national challenges, stimulate economic growth, and improve the quality of life for Filipinos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event will host in-depth sessions on advanced technologies, including semiconductors, electric vehicles (EVs), integrated circuits and devices (ICD), and artificial intelligence (AI), in line with PROPEL\u2019s mission to empower Filipino innovators for success in the global market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the zonal conference held in Batangas City, DOST Assistant Secretary for Technology Transfer, Communications, and Commercialization (TTCC), Dr. Napoleon K. Juanillo Jr., stated that it is not just all about commercialization but also ensuring that technologies can uplift the livelihood, health, and well-being of families, communities, and individuals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The program focuses on science-driven technologies that tackle essential challenges in health and wellness, agriculture and food security, environmental sustainability, information and communication technology (ICT), energy, and transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event will gather representatives from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs). Private institutions, representatives from the Local Government Units (LGUs), Regional Development Council, Business Chambers and\/or local PCCI Chapter, innovators, industry leaders, and investors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, it helps innovators present their products at global exhibitions, aiming to attract the interest of international investors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
