In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Laguna invited DOST-CALABARZON as the resource speaker for its culminating activity on March 27, 2025, at the DAR Laguna Provincial Office, Region IV-A. The Gender and Development (GAD) event served as a platform to reinforce the significance of gender equality and women empowerment in public service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Ristian Aldrin C. Calderon, DOST-CALABARZON\u2019s GAD Secretariat, led an insightful session on advancing gender equality within government institutions. His discussion emphasized the role of public service in fostering inclusive and equitable workplaces, highlighting key strategies to dismantle gender biases and empower women professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was graced by DAR Laguna\u2019s Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II, Mr. Rommel Q. Bote; Chief Administrative Officer, Ms. Myra A. Cagungun; and Atty. Perseus A. Antigua, who expressed their support and advocated for the importance of events such as this in promoting gender mainstreaming and the empowerment of women in public service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Adding to the discourse, Mr. Charles Andrew M. Reyes, Science Research Specialist I and GAD Focal Point System Member, presented the best practices and GAD initiatives of DOST-CALABARZON in gender mainstreaming. His presentation underscored the agency\u2019s continuous efforts in implementing gender-responsive programs and policies, setting a benchmark for other government institutions to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was well-received by DAR Laguna employees, who actively engaged in discussions and expressed their commitment to integrating gender and development (GAD) principles into their daily operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
DOST-CALABARZON remains steadfast in its advocacy for gender equality, striving to create more opportunities for women in public service and beyond.
