CAVITE \u2014 In a bid to bolster food security and social support across Cavite\u2019s 7th District, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and District Representative Hon. Crispin Diego \u201cPing\u201d D. Remulla led the Ceremonial Awarding of Rice Assistance Allocation on October 2 at the New Provincial Government Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event marked the formal turnover of rice assistance to four local government units: Trece Martires City, Indang, Amadeo, and Tanza. Joining the ceremony were Cavite Governor Jonvic \u201cAbeng\u201d Remulla and 7th District Board Member Aldrin Anacan, both of whom expressed appreciation for the initiative\u2019s role in uplifting communities through direct aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
DSWD Representative Ms. Marivi Elnar, together with Governor Abeng Remulla and Congressman Ping Remulla, handed over the assistance cheques to the respective LGU leaders. Mayor Archangelo \u201cSM\u201d Matro received the cheque for the Municipality of Tanza; Mayor Virgilio \u201cVergel\u201d Fidel for Indang; Mayor Jose \u201cJojo\u201d Domingo Jr. for Amadeo; and Mayor Gemma Lubigan and Vice Mayor Romeo \u201cBobby\u201d Montehermoso for Trece Martires City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The rice assistance allocation is part of the national government\u2019s continuing efforts to address food insecurity and support low-income households, especially in the wake of economic challenges. The program aims to reinforce local welfare systems and ensure that basic needs are met across vulnerable sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the turnover, DSWD staff conducted an orientation on the Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP), providing LGU officials with a comprehensive overview of the program\u2019s objectives, implementation guidelines, and beneficiary targeting. The session emphasized transparency, efficiency, and community engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ceremonial event highlighted the importance of collaboration between national agencies and local governments in delivering responsive public service. With leaders like Rep.
