Pollo Master Corp. undergoes refresher seminar on food safety hazards

Pollo Master Corporation underwent a refresher-seminar on food safety hazards to strengthen the awareness of its personnel on hazards that may affect food safety during processing, handling, and distribution conducted at its production plant, Brgy. Aya, San Jose, Batangas, recently.

The training, facilitated by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-Batangas, covered discussion on the three main categories of food safety hazards: biological, chemical, and physical. Ms. Jessica Navarro, food safety team member of the agency, explained how these hazards can enter the food processing chain and outlined preventive measures to control them.

Real-life examples and case scenarios were presented to help participants identify potential hazards in their operations. Topics included hygiene practices, allergen control, foreign object prevention, and the role of sanitation in minimizing risks.

Participants engaged in interactive discussions throughout the session, sharing insights based on their daily work in the processing facility. The session also highlighted the importance of consistent implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to ensure food safety. (By John Maico M. Hernandez)
