NAST PHL and DOST-CALABARZON to hold 2025 Luzon Regional Scientific Meeting in Cavite
The National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST PHL), in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology-CALABARZON (DOST-CALABARZON), will host the 2025 Luzon Regional Scientific Meeting (LRSM) on May 21–22, 2025, at Abagatan ti Manila in Alfonso, Cavite. This year’s theme, “Bioscience Innovations: Transforming Enterprise Ecosystems for Wealth Creation,” emphasizes the vital role of science and technology in driving inclusive and sustainable economic development.
The LRSM is held annually as part of NAST PHL and DOST’s continued commitment to making science more accessible and responsive to the needs of the Filipino people. It provides a platform to address pressing regional concerns through meaningful dialogue and science-based recommendations.
This year’s discussions will focus on the transformative potential of bioscience innovations in addressing community needs, enhancing resilience, and promoting long-term sustainability. Anchored on DOST’s four key pillars—human well-being, wealth creation, wealth protection, and sustainability—the meeting will highlight three core areas:
* Community-Based Livelihood Innovations
* Sustainable Resource Management and Conservation
* Education and Workforce Development
The two-day event is expected to gather scientists, researchers, policymakers, community leaders, and industry stakeholders. It aims not only to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing but also to inspire collective action in harnessing bioscience for building resilient and thriving communities across Luzon.
