Strengthening Support for Migrant Workers in Naic
Naic, Cavite — The Local Government of Naic, led by Mayor Rommel Magbitang, has taken another significant step in advancing programs for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families. On Thursday, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was formally signed between the Municipality of Naic and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) at the Stadium Shopping Strip.
Councilor Ryan “Wakay” Flores joined the event, underscoring the local government’s commitment to building strong partnerships with national agencies. The agreement aims to expand services and initiatives that directly benefit migrant workers, ensuring that their welfare and that of their families remain a top priority.
Mayor Magbitang emphasized that this collaboration is part of the administration’s broader vision to create sustainable programs that address the needs of Naic residents working abroad. “Our OFWs are modern-day heroes. It is our responsibility to provide them with the support they deserve, not only while they are overseas but also when they return home,” he said.
The partnership with the DMW is expected to open more opportunities for skills training, reintegration programs, and family support services. By aligning local initiatives with national efforts, Naic continues to strengthen its role as a community that values and protects its workers.
This milestone reflects the administration’s ongoing mission: “Let’s Save Naic Para sa Batang Naic” — a vision that ensures every family, especially those of migrant workers, can look forward to a brighter and more secure future.
