Congresswoman Lani M. Revilla Pushes for Stronger Housing Programs to Address Bacoor’s Backlog
Bacoor City, Cavite — Congresswoman Lani M. Revilla, member of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Housing and Urban Development, reaffirmed her commitment to advancing housing initiatives that directly benefit Filipino families.
During the recent budget hearing of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), Congresswoman Revilla joined DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling and National Housing Authority General Manager Joeben Tai in discussing strategies to strengthen housing programs nationwide. She expressed full support for allocating additional funds to DHSUD, emphasizing the urgent need to address housing backlogs.
In Bacoor City alone, approximately 2,000 housing units remain in deficit for informal settler families (ISFs) affected by the Supreme Court Mandamus on Manila Bay. Congresswoman Revilla underscored that this shortfall must be prioritized to ensure that displaced families are provided with safe and decent homes.
“A stable home is the foundation of every Filipino family. It is where dreams for the future begin,” Revilla stated. “We must continue to strengthen our housing programs so that more families can live securely and with dignity.”
