With this year’s theme “Hope and Home for every Child”, the event aimed to raise awareness and garner support for legal adoption and alternative child care programs.
The first part of the program featured the Bisig-kleta and Fun Run activity, which started in Trece Martires and concluded in Indang. Hundreds of participantsโincluding government workers, cycling and running enthusiasts, families, and child welfare advocatesโgathered for the early morning fitness activity that encouraged both wellness and advocacy which symbolize the collective journey of providing every child with a loving and nurturing home.
The celebration continued with the second part of the programโ featuring a Couch Talk segment held at CVSU Indang. The heartfelt session focused on the theme “Hope and Home for every Child”. It featured testimonies and open conversations from adoptive and foster parents who shared their real-life experiences, challenges, and triumphs in raising children through the alternative child care system. The dialogue provided inspiration and emotional insight into the life-changing impact of adoption and foster care.
Capping off the day was the Ceremonial Turnover of the AACCW hosting from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) of Cavite to the PSWDO of Laguna, marking a symbolic ringing of bell to continue the advocacy in the coming year. —JDP
