Imuseños Inspired by Judge’s Life Story, City Government Recognized for Public Service in Weekly Flag Ceremony

Imus City — July 28, 2025

Under the calm Monday morning skies, the employees of the City Government of Imus gathered once again for their weekly flag ceremony, a routine event that this week became more meaningful for many.

The highlight of the program was the inspirational message delivered by Hon. Judge Wendy Reyes-Garcia, who shared her personal journey—one marked by perseverance and challenges—before becoming a full-fledged judge. Her story served as a powerful reminder that resilience, integrity, and hard work are essential not just in law, but in public service.

“Her words reminded us to never lose sight of our values no matter how difficult the path gets,” shared one city employee after the program.

Beyond inspiration, the event also became a moment of recognition.

Imus City Mayor Alex “AA” L. Advincula was honored with a Plaque of Appreciation from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) CALABARZON, in recognition of his unwavering support for the welfare of persons deprived of liberty housed at the Imus City Jail.

In a separate recognition, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 4-A commended the City Government of Imus for its strong partnership in the fight against illegal drugs—affirming the city’s ongoing commitment to a safer and drug-free community.

The ceremony was guided by a solemn prayer led by Rev. Fr. Manny Villas, setting a reflective tone for the week. Program hosting was led by April Manabat, while the Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat was energetically led by Pia Lara.

Events like these show that governance is not just about policies and planning—it’s about recognizing efforts, sharing stories, and reinforcing a shared sense of purpose among public servants and citizens alike.
