Vice Mayor Third Barzaga Leads Congressional Avenue Wire Clearing Drive

In a decisive push for public safety and urban order, Dasmariñas City Vice Mayor Rexlon “Third” Barzaga led successful clearing operations along Congressional Avenue, spanning from Windward Hills Subdivision to the Kadiwa stoplight. The initiative targeted the removal of hazardous dangling wires and tangled “spaghetti” cables that posed risks to pedestrians, motorists, and nearby establishments.

The operation was conducted in close coordination with major utility providers—Meralco, Globe, PLDT, and Converge—whose technical teams worked alongside city personnel to streamline overhead infrastructure. These efforts are part of a broader campaign to eliminate fire hazards, prevent electrocution risks, and improve the visual and structural integrity of public spaces.

Vice Mayor Barzaga emphasized the importance of proactive governance and inter-agency cooperation in maintaining community safety. “This is a shared responsibility. We thank our utility partners for their continued commitment to the well-being of our constituents,” he said, noting that the initiative reflects Dasmariñas City’s dedication to responsive and preventive public service.

Residents and commuters have long expressed concern over the cluttered and unsafe wiring along major roads. The recent clearing operations not only addressed these hazards but also reinforced the city’s commitment to infrastructure modernization and disaster risk reduction.

The project also aligns with Dasmariñas City’s strategic goals for sustainable urban development, ensuring that public utilities are managed responsibly and in accordance with safety standards. Local officials confirmed that similar operations will be rolled out in other high-traffic zones in the coming weeks.

As the city continues to grow, Vice Mayor Barzaga reiterated the need for vigilance and collaboration. “We are building a safer, smarter Dasmariñas—one street, one partnership at a time,” he added.
