Cavite City Rolls Out Free Public Wi-Fi in Key Locations
CAVITE CITY — In a major leap toward digital modernization, Cavite City has officially launched its Free Public Wi-Fi initiative, providing residents with complimentary internet access in select public areas. The project was spearheaded by Mayor Davey Chua and Vice Mayor Raleigh Rusit, who led the signing of a partnership agreement with Pipol Broadband to bring this service to life.
The rollout includes several high-traffic and community-centered locations such as the City Auditorium, Samonte Park, Muralla, and Unlad Pier, as well as a number of public schools. These areas were strategically chosen to ensure maximum accessibility for students, workers, and everyday citizens who rely on internet connectivity for education, communication, and livelihood.
Mayor Chua emphasized the importance of bridging the digital divide, stating that the initiative is part of the city’s broader vision to become a smart and inclusive urban center. “We want every Caviteño to feel connected—not just to the internet, but to opportunities,” he said during the signing ceremony.
Vice Mayor Rusit echoed the sentiment, highlighting how the project supports the city’s youth and working population. “Access to reliable internet is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity. This program ensures that our people are not left behind in the digital age,” he remarked.
Pipol Broadband, the city’s partner in the initiative, will oversee the installation and maintenance of the Wi-Fi infrastructure. The company assured residents of stable and secure connections, with plans to expand coverage in the coming months based on community feedback and usage data.
The Free Public Wi-Fi program is expected to enhance online learning, support small businesses, and improve access to government services. It also aligns with national efforts to promote digital transformation across local government units.
With this bold move, Cavite City positions itself as a forward-thinking municipality committed to empowering its citizens through technology. The city government encourages residents to take advantage of the service and stay tuned for future updates on expanded coverage.
