Imus–GenTri Friendship Bridge 1 Officially Opened to the Public

Cavite, Philippines – A new milestone in Cavite’s infrastructure development was marked today with the inauguration of the Imus–GenTri Friendship Bridge 1, a 40-meter-long, 10-meter-wide two-lane bridge connecting Barangay Alapan 2-B in Imus City and Barangay Navarro in General Trias City.  

The ceremonial walk-through was led by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla, alongside key Cavite leaders:  

– General Trias Vice Mayor Jonas Labuguen  

– General Trias Mayor Luis “Jon Jon” Ferrer IV  

– Congressman Adrian Jay Advincula of the 3rd District of Cavite  

– Imus City Mayor Alex “AA” Advincula  

– Cavite 6th District Congressman Antonio Ferrer  

This collaborative effort symbolizes unity and progress between the two neighboring cities. The bridge is expected to significantly ease travel, reduce congestion, and strengthen economic and social ties between Imus and General Trias.  

Secretary Remulla emphasized the importance of infrastructure projects that directly benefit communities, noting that the Friendship Bridge stands as a testament to teamwork among local and national leaders. Mayor Ferrer and Mayor Advincula both highlighted how the bridge will improve accessibility for residents, businesses, and commuters, fostering stronger partnerships between their cities.  

The Imus–GenTri Friendship Bridge 1 is envisioned as the first of several projects that will further integrate Cavite’s rapidly growing urban centers, ensuring smoother mobility and enhanced opportunities for its people.
