Virtual Assistant Basics Program Empowers GenTriseños Through Skills Training

General Trias, Cavite — Forty (40) GenTriseños have successfully completed the Virtual Assistant (VA) Basics Program, a livelihood initiative under the partnership of McCare Career Academy and the Pamahalaang Lungsod ng General Trias, led by Mayor Jonjon Ferrer.

This pioneering program equips participants with essential digital skills to thrive in the growing online work industry. Many of the graduates are solo parents, who can now pursue remote work opportunities while caring for their children at home.

Mayor Jonjon Ferrer emphasized the city’s commitment to inclusive employment opportunities:

“Sa General Trias, hindi natin hinahayaang maiwan ang ating mga kababayan. Sa pamamagitan ng programang ito, binibigyan natin ng pagkakataon ang mga solo parents, at sa susunod ay ang ating mga PWDs, dating OFWs, at iba pang nangangailangan ng trabaho, upang magkaroon ng mas maayos na kabuhayan.”

The initiative aligns with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, ensuring that GenTriseños are empowered with practical skills for sustainable livelihood. With the success of the first batch, the city government and McCare Career Academy are preparing to expand the program to include PWDs, former OFWs, and other residents who need employment support.

This milestone reflects the city’s vision of #AlagangGenTri, where every citizen is given the tools to succeed in the modern workforce.
