Magallanes PESO Honored at 5th Regional PESO Congress for Outstanding Program

Angeles City, Pampanga – August 3-5, 2026 — The Municipality of Magallanes proudly marked a significant milestone at the 5th Regional Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Congress, held at Royce Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone. The event gathered PESO offices from across CALABARZON to celebrate excellence in employment facilitation and community empowerment. 

Magallanes PESO was recognized as a Regional Winner in the Natatanging Programa ng PESO Award for its flagship initiative, the SIKHAY (Sikap Kabuhayan) Program. This program is designed to expand livelihood opportunities, provide skills training, and strengthen the capabilities of local residents toward sustainable and resilient living. 

The award is a testament to the collective efforts of the Municipal Government of Magallanes, led by Mayor Janessa Maligaya de Ramayo and Vice Mayor Aina Mari Sisante Maligalig, together with Atty. Tyn Mangubat-Abeleda. Their leadership, alongside the dedication of PESO staff Ms. Aya Domingo, the Barangay Employment Service Officers (BESOs), and the Government Internship Program (GIP) participants, has been instrumental in implementing impactful programs and services. 

The recognition also highlights the strong partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – Cavite Provincial Office, whose support has been vital in advancing employment initiatives. Most importantly, the award honors the beneficiaries of the SIKHAY Program, whose perseverance and inspiration continue to drive PESO Magallanes to deliver better services. 

“This award is not only for PESO Magallanes but for the entire community of Magallanes,” said Mayor Janessa Maligaya de Ramayo. “It reflects our shared vision of creating programs that bring hope, opportunities, and a brighter future for every Magalleño.” 

Vice Mayor Aina Mari Sisante Maligalig added, “The SIKHAY Program embodies our commitment to empowering our people through livelihood and training, ensuring that progress is inclusive and sustainable.” 

With this recognition, PESO Magallanes reaffirms its mission to champion programs that uplift lives and strengthen the local economy. The municipality remains steadfast in its pursuit of initiatives that embody the spirit of “SIKHAY: Sikap Kabuhayan para sa Ekonomiyang Asensado at may Sigla.”
