General Trias Expands Assistance Programs and Food Security Efforts During People’s Day
General Trias City, Cavite – The Local Government of General Trias, led by Mayor Jonjon Ferrer, continues to strengthen its commitment to responsive governance through the regular conduct of GenTri People’s Day, a platform where residents can directly raise their concerns and requests to the city government.
During the latest People’s Day, the LGU addressed a wide range of community needs – from assistance with hospital bills and medical check-ups to support in job placement opportunities. Mayor Ferrer underscored that the initiative reflects the city’s mission to deliver services that are both accessible and compassionate:
“Lagi pong bukas ang pintuan ng ating Pamahalaang Lungsod sa inyong mga hinaing at pangangailangan. Ang ating tungkulin ay tiyakin na ang bawat GenTriseño ay makatatanggap ng serbisyong nararapat at makabuluhan,” Mayor Ferrer said.
In addition, the city government convened barangay captains to discuss the Bawat Bayan Makikinabang Program of the National Government, focusing on rice distribution for families in need. Following consultations and proposals endorsed to the DILG and partner agencies, the number of beneficiaries in General Trias was doubled from 30,000 to 60,000 families. While the distribution schedule was adjusted from four rounds to two, Mayor Ferrer emphasized that prioritization will ensure aid reaches those who need it most.
This expansion demonstrates General Trias’ proactive stance in addressing food security and social welfare, reinforcing its dedication to efficient public service and inclusive governance.
GenTri People’s Day remains a cornerstone of the city’s good governance – a direct line between the people and their leaders, ensuring that every voice is heard and every need is met.
