By Marielle P. Nueva
The Department of Science and Technology – Cavite, with DOST CALABARZON, has extended strategic support to the Food Processors Association of Cavite (FOODPAC) as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen local industries and expand livelihood opportunities. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through science, technology, and innovation.
The assistance focuses on enhancing FOODPAC’s capabilities in product development, packaging, and overall market readiness through the provision of appropriate technologies and technical expertise. These interventions are expected to improve product quality, increase productivity, and elevate the competitiveness of FOODPAC members in both local and wider markets.
More importantly, the support aims to sustain and expand the income-generating activities of the association. By equipping its members with improved tools and innovative solutions, FOODPAC is better positioned to adapt to evolving market demands, thereby helping secure more stable and increased sources of income for its members.
Through this initiative, DOST CALABARZON and DOST Cavite reaffirm their commitment to delivering responsive and high-impact programs that drive inclusive growth. The strengthened capacity of FOODPAC is expected to contribute to the continued development of Cavite’s food processing sector and generate broader socio-economic benefits for the community.
