Philippine Delegation Actively Participates in Committee on Decent Work in the Platform Economy at Geneva International Conference Center  

Geneva, Switzerland — A productive day unfolded at the Geneva International Conference Center as the Philippine delegation took part in the Committee on Decent Work in the Platform Economy, reaffirming the country’s commitment to advancing labor rights and protections in the digital age.  

The session was attended by Congressman Jolo Revilla of Cavite’s First District, alongside Atty. Connie Bacay of the Bureau of Labor Relations, Department of Labor and Employment (BLR-DOLE). They were joined by prominent labor leaders Mr. Jerome Adonis of Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) and Atty. Sonny Matula of the Federation of Free Workers (FFW).  

Together, the delegation engaged in meaningful discussions on policies and programs aimed at strengthening worker protections and ensuring fair opportunities for Filipino workers in the platform economy.  

Congressman Revilla emphasized the importance of global collaboration in safeguarding labor dignity: “Wherever we are in the world, our fight continues for the rights, welfare, and dignity of every Filipino worker.”  

This participation highlights the Philippines’ proactive role in international labor dialogues, ensuring that the voices of Filipino workers are represented in shaping policies that respond to the evolving nature of work.
