Capas, Tarlac – The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) have formally joined forces to develop a state-of-the-art training center for the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) in New Clark City. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to nurturing future scientists and innovators by providing world-class facilities for science education.

The partnership was officially announced by DOST Secretary Renato Solidum Jr., who emphasized the importance of investing in science and technology education to prepare the country’s youth for global competitiveness. “This training center will serve as a hub for excellence, equipping our scholars with the skills and knowledge they need to lead in research and innovation,” Secretary Solidum said.

BCDA President and Chief Executive Officer Engr. Joshua Bingcang expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting that New Clark City is envisioned as a modern hub for education, innovation, and sustainability. “We are proud to support DOST and PSHS in building a facility that will inspire the next generation of Filipino scientists,” Bingcang remarked.

The training center will provide advanced laboratories, collaborative learning spaces, and research facilities designed to foster creativity and critical thinking among PSHS scholars. It will also serve as a venue for specialized training programs, workshops, and partnerships with local and international institutions.

This landmark project reflects the shared vision of DOST and BCDA to create opportunities for Filipino youth and to strengthen the country’s capacity for scientific research and technological advancement.
