Vale Encabo Praised as Dasmariñas Prepares for Special Election
Dasmariñas City, Cavite — The City Government has commended Vale Encabo for his steadfast support to local initiatives, with Mayor Jenny Barzaga expressing gratitude for his contributions to community development. The recognition comes at a pivotal time as the city gears up for a special election scheduled on August 29, 2026.
Mayor Barzaga, who is among the candidates vying for the vacant congressional seat in Cavite’s 4th District, highlighted the importance of unity and civic participation. “Vale Encabo’s commitment reflects the spirit of service that strengthens our city. As we approach the election, I encourage our people to exercise their democratic right responsibly,” she said.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) set the special polls following the expulsion of Rep. Francisco “Kiko” Barzaga Jr. from the House of Representatives. Around 447,000 registered voters in Dasmariñas City are expected to cast their ballots, with the proclamation of the winner scheduled for August 30, 2026.
Five candidates are contesting the seat: Mayor Jennifer Austria Barzaga, Raul Rex Del Rosario Mangubat, Marvin Opamin Dupal-ag, Leysander Aguilar Ordenes, and Jacinto Bautista Frani Jr. The official campaign period runs from July 30 to August 27, while the election period extends until September 13, during which a gun ban will be enforced in the city.
The upcoming election is seen as a crucial moment for Dasmariñas, offering residents the opportunity to shape the city’s representation in Congress. With strong community figures like Vale Encabo being recognized, Mayor Barzaga emphasized that the city’s progress depends on both leadership and active citizen involvement.
