PAPI celebrates the Enduring Legacy of Chairman Emeritus Johnny P. Dayang on First anniversary of His Passing

Manila, Philippines – April 29, 2026 – The Publishers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PAPI) today honors the life and legacy of its beloved Chairman Emeritus, Johnny P. Dayang, on the first anniversary of his passing. His visionary leadership, unwavering dedication, and lifelong commitment to the principles of press freedom and nation-building continue to inspire the entire publishing community.  

Under the stewardship of Chairman Emeritus Dayang, PAPI grew into a stronger, unified voice for publishers across the country. His tireless advocacy for responsible journalism and community development elevated the role of the press as a vital pillar of democracy and progress.  

As the PAPI family commemorates his life and service, the organization reaffirms its commitment to the values he championed—integrity, courage, and service to the Filipino people. His legacy endures in every page published, in every truth upheld, and in every effort to strengthen the role of journalism in society.  

PAPI also renews its call for justice, expressing confidence that government agencies will continue to intensify efforts to bring accountability to those responsible for his untimely passing. The association remains steadfast in ensuring that his memory is honored not only through words but through action, by carrying forward the mission he so passionately advanced.
