National and Local Leaders Unite for GenTri Progress
General Trias, Cavite — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. once again underscored his administration’s commitment to inclusive development during his third visit to General Trias, Cavite. The President led the pre-opening inspection of the CALAX – Governor’s Drive Interchange, a vital infrastructure project expected to ease mobility and spur economic activity in the city and neighboring areas.
Alongside this inspection, President Marcos Jr. launched socio-civic initiatives aimed at directly uplifting GenTriseños. Under the Socio-Civic Program Fund (SCPF), five Presidential scholars per barangay will receive ₱20,000 each, ensuring that education remains accessible to deserving students. Complementing this, the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) has begun distributing 10 kilograms of rice every two months to 18,000 beneficiaries, reinforcing the administration’s drive toward food security and poverty alleviation.
Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla emphasized the importance of strong national-local partnerships in implementing these programs. “The success of these initiatives lies in the collaboration between the national government and our local leaders. We are ensuring that every barangay in General Trias truly benefits,” Remulla said.
Mayor Jonjon Ferrer expressed gratitude for the continued support from Malacañang, noting that this marks the third time President Marcos Jr. has visited the city. “General Trias is honored to be a recipient of these programs. With the President’s leadership and the support of Secretary Remulla, we are confident that our people will feel the tangible impact of government service,” Ferrer stated.
The visit highlights a unified effort to strengthen ties between national and local governments, ensuring that development programs are not only announced but felt by the communities they are meant to serve. With education, food security, and infrastructure at the forefront, the Marcos administration, in partnership with local leaders, continues to push for a more progressive and resilient General Trias.
