AGIMAT Party-list Calls for Stronger Benefits and Services for OFWs

During the budget deliberations for the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), AGIMAT Party-list Representative Bryan Revilla made a strong appeal for more concrete programs and services that directly benefit Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

Rep. Revilla stressed that OFWs should not be recognized only during crises. “Araw-araw silang nagsasakripisyo at nag-aambag sa bansa. Hindi dapat puro sakripisyo, dapat may napapakinabangan,” he said, underscoring the need for institutional support that matches their daily contributions to the Philippine economy.

He also called on PhilHealth to strengthen its programs for OFWs, pointing out that while they are required to remit contributions, there must be clarity and assurance on the meaningful benefits they will receive. “Obligado silang maghulog, kaya dapat malinaw din kung ano ang makabuluhang benepisyo para sa kanila,” Revilla added.

AGIMAT Party-list continues to champion the welfare of OFWs, pushing for policies that go beyond symbolic recognition and instead deliver tangible assistance, healthcare support, and long-term protection for millions of Filipino workers abroad.
