A Community’s New Beacon of Hope: Bahay Bulilit Opens in Dasmariñas, Cavite
Dasmariñas, Cavite – January 26, 2026 — For the families of Barangay Paliparan III, the inauguration of the 55th Bahay Bulilit Learning Center by Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Philippines is more than just the opening of a facility—it is the beginning of new opportunities for children to thrive.
Unlike typical ribbon-cutting ceremonies, this event carried a deeper meaning for parents and guardians who have long sought safe and nurturing spaces for their children.
The center, launched at 8:30 AM, symbolizes a partnership between local government, private organizations, and the community itself.
A Shared Effort for Children’s Future Mayor Jenny Austria-Barzaga underscored the importance of collaboration, reminding attendees that progress is strongest when the private sector and government unite.
Her gratitude to RMHC and McDonald’s Philippines reflected the city’s commitment to uplifting communities through education and welfare. Vice Mayor Third Barzaga and the City Council echoed this sentiment, standing alongside officials such as Engr. Jonas Dela Cuesta, City Planning Officer, and Joven A. Dicen, City Social Welfare and Development Officer, who have been instrumental in ensuring that projects like Bahay Bulilit align with the city’s long-term development goals.
Barangay Captain Crisanto C. Maya expressed pride in hosting the new center, noting that it will directly benefit hundreds of children in Paliparan III. RMHC’s Vision Beyond Classrooms RMHC Executive Director Marie A. Angeles emphasized that Bahay Bulilit centers are not just classrooms but sanctuaries where children can dream freely. She reaffirmed RMHC’s mission to expand its reach nationwide, ensuring that more communities gain access to early childhood education.
From the private sector, Ada A. Lazaro, McDonald’s Philippines Marketing Officer and RMHC Board Member, and Ansherina P. Villasoto, Finance Director and RMHC Board Member, highlighted the company’s dedication to supporting initiatives that directly impact Filipino families. And of course, the presence of Ronald McDonald, the beloved mascot, brought joy to the children, symbolizing McDonald’s enduring commitment to child welfare.
A Hub for Families and Growth With structured learning programs and recreational activities, the Bahay Bulilit in Paliparan III is expected to serve as both a learning center and a community hub. Supported by the City Social Welfare and Development Office, it will empower parents and guardians to take an active role in their children’s growth, making education a shared responsibility.
This perspective shifts the focus from the organizational milestone to the community impact, showing how the collaboration of leaders like Mayor Jenny Austria-Barzaga, Vice Mayor Third Barzaga, Jonas Dela Cuesta, Joven A. Dicen, Crisanto C. Maya, Ada A. Lazaro, Ansherina P. Villasoto, and Marie A. Angeles creates lasting change for families. (CTJ Reportorial Team)
