Cavite empowers people through integrated compassionate cancer care

The Provincial Government of Cavite, through OPG-Office of the Provincial Persons with Disability Affairs Officer, and the Philippine Society of Oncologist, Inc. worked together in successfully spearheading the 25th Midyear Convention, themed “EPIC: Empowering People through Integrated Compassionate Cancer Care”, on July 11, 2025 at the International Convention Center, Cavite State University-Main Campus, Indang, Cavite

The initiative served as a platform for shared knowledge and practices for diverse groups of Cavite health professionals and barangay health workers in combating cancer through integrated treatment and care.

In his opening message, Governor Francisco Gabriel D. Remulla addressed the battles and challenges many people face against cancer, and underscored the importance of cancer care, stating “It is imperative that we give significance to cancer care through raising awareness, and empowering people with compassion.”

Afterwards, Atty. Allan Chester Nadate, House of Representatives Director II, shared a keynote lecture on National Integrated Cancer Control Act Law and emphasized the collective effort of everyone to increase the level of health awareness and empowerment. “Ang bawat isa sa satin ay mayroong papel at mayroong ginagampanan para makaligtas ng buhay”, he remarked.

The convention featured a series of lectures and discussions that aimed to inspire attendees and underscore the holistic and compassionate approach on oncology and cancer care.

As the event came to an end, Dr. Warren Bacarri, Philippine Society of Oncologists, Inc. President, urged for a solidified effort to fight against the disease, with a call for united action, “Samasama nating sugpuin ang cancer”. ( FB/Account)
