Sweden Reaffirms Support for DOST’s Innovation Agenda in Strategic Meeting
Manila, Philippines — The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) welcomed Her Excellency Anna Ferry, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, in a high-level meeting held on October 3, 2025, to strengthen bilateral cooperation in science, technology, and innovation.
During the meeting, DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum Jr. emphasized the importance of integrating scientific and technological solutions with business ecosystems to address both local and global challenges. He reiterated the Department’s commitment to developmental policy that fosters inclusive innovation and sustainable growth.
Ambassador Ferry expressed Sweden’s continued support for enhancing DOST’s existing programs, particularly those aligned with the Department’s priority portfolios. She highlighted Sweden’s expertise in science and technology and affirmed the Embassy’s readiness to collaborate on initiatives that promote climate resilience, digital transformation, and sustainable enterprise development.
The dialogue explored potential areas for technical cooperation, including joint research, capacity-building, and knowledge exchange. Both parties recognized the value of international partnerships in accelerating innovation and delivering impactful solutions for communities.
