Mayor Alex Advincula Launches “Bigay Bigas sa Masa” Program in Imus

Imus City Mayor Alex Advincula officially spearheaded the distribution of rice assistance under the “Bigay Bigas sa Masa” program, following the arrival of 30,000 sacks of 10-kilo rice from the National Government. The initiative is designed to provide immediate relief to vulnerable households across the city.  

The rice supply was procured directly from farmer cooperatives through the Sagip Saka Act, ensuring that the program not only supports families in need but also strengthens the livelihood of local farmers. Mayor Advincula highlighted that this dual benefit underscores the city’s commitment to inclusive development.  

To expedite the distribution, the city government adopted a come-and-go system instead of a formal program. Beneficiaries include Urban Poor, Solo Parent Households, Transport Groups, and Indigent Families, with the goal of completing the first tranche before the end of the month.  

Mayor Advincula assured residents that three more tranches are scheduled within the year, expanding the reach of the program to more Imuseño families. He emphasized that the city government will continue to prioritize transparency and efficiency in delivering assistance.  

Expressing gratitude to the National Government, Mayor Advincula reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to ensuring that every program entrusted to Imus reaches those who truly need it. He described the initiative as a symbol of solidarity between government and community, strengthening both household food security and local agriculture.
