Mayor Alex Advincula Leads Imus City’s Preemptive Measures for Typhoon #OpongPH
Imus City is ramping up its disaster preparedness efforts as Typhoon #OpongPH looms, with City Mayor Alex Advincula at the forefront of strategic planning and coordination. In a recent Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) meeting, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) gathered to assess potential risks and reinforce the city’s readiness.
Mayor Advincula emphasized the importance of swift and organized action to protect lives and property. “Ang kaligtasan ng bawat Imuseño ang ating pangunahing layunin. Sa tulong ng maagap na koordinasyon, sisiguraduhin nating handa ang ating lungsod sa anumang epekto ng bagyo,” he stated during the meeting.
Key points discussed included the early deployment of emergency personnel and equipment, particularly in flood-prone areas. The city is also working closely with barangay officials to ensure timely dissemination of advisories and activation of local disaster response teams.
Evacuation centers are being readied with essential supplies such as food, water, medicine, and hygiene kits. Health protocols remain a priority, especially in communal shelters, to safeguard residents amid ongoing public health concerns.
Mayor Advincula also called on Imuseños to remain vigilant and cooperative. He urged the public to monitor official announcements and follow safety guidelines issued by local authorities.
