Holy Redeemer School of Cabuyao, Inc. partners with DOST-CALABARZON for STARBOOKS installation
In a significant step toward promoting digital learning and accessible science and technology resources, Holy Redeemer School (HRS) of Cabuyao, Inc. officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with DOST CALABARZON through DOST Laguna for the installation of the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated Kiosk Stations (STARBOOKS) on March 10, 2025.
The ceremonial signing was graced by Ms. Agnes G. Morales, Provincial Director of DOST Laguna and Mr. Charles Andrew M. Reyes, Science Research Specialist I , alongside Ms. Marietta P. Sampang, School Principal of HRS, Ms. Benilda Marie “Day” Ignacio, School Director of HRS, Engr. Benhur B. Ignacio, President, and Ms. Francisca Gotiongco Ignacio, Vice President of HRS. Their collective support underscores the shared commitment to enhancing science and technology education through innovation. The installation of STARBOOKS was facilitated by the team from DOST CALABARZON led by Jayson Villarino, Project Technical Assistant IV.
STARBOOKS, the Philippines’ first digital science library, will provide students and faculty with offline access to thousands of science, technology, and innovation resources. Its rich content includes:
* S&T journals, research papers, and technical reports
* Educational videos and interactive learning materials
* DOST-developed technologies and livelihood opportunities
* K-12 learning materials in science, mathematics, and engineering
* Climate change studies, disaster preparedness resources, and more!
By bringing cutting-edge learning tools to Holy Redeemer School of Cabuyao, this initiative ensures that students and teachers gain access to valuable educational content even without internet connectivity. Ms. Day is confident that this technology will unlock new levels of achievement in science and mathematics for students and teachers, positively impacting HRS’s reputation.
